New building and relocation to Schornsheim
Since the spatial capacities in Wörrstadt had reached their limits and a more optimal site was available with the acquisition of CC Maschinenbau in Schornsheim, a company move was decided at the same time, realised in 2020 during ongoing business operations and completed in the first quarter of this year. The existing 900-square-metre parts production hall was supplemented by a new 1,500-square-metre hall for assembling the machines. This also houses the extensive sheet metal processing section, whose efficiency is reflected not only in the new acquisition of a modern large-format laser cutting centre.
In retrospect, the approximate doubling of the production and office space may be perceived as a courageous step in view of the Covid 19 crisis, which admittedly could not have been foreseen in the initial planning phase. Especially since no savings were made in other investments, especially in the energy-efficient design of the buildings. Both halls are equipped with photovoltaic systems and heat pump underfloor heating.
It is a sign of great confidence in one's own strength that the consistent implementation of the change of location, especially in a difficult economic environment, has proved to be the right decision in retrospect. Fortunately, the Corona pandemic had no serious negative impact on Carpentier Packaging's business success. Short-time work was not necessary at all.
